The three buildings

Gli Edifici.
Structure & Soul.

The restoration of Terradiolivo honors the vernacular geometry of Calabrian masonry. Three distinct structures, woven together by stone paths and silence.

Original trace, open space

The main building, dating back to the mid-1800s, was in critical structural condition. The intervention secured it by removing the collapsed sections and preserving the ground floor, while maintaining the building’s original geometry.

Today Il Casino is an open space that restores the memory of rural architecture: a legible plan, recovered masonry, and a central void that becomes a place for exhibitions and gathering.

It is not a reconstruction, but a trace: a device that narrates the site’s agricultural past and makes its evolution over time visible.

Support for slow travel

The stable has been repurposed as a service point for cycle tourism, in direct relation to the Ciclovia dei Parchi della Calabria, located just a few hundred meters from the site.

The space offers essential technical support: minor repairs, equipment, and assistance for those riding the cycle route. It is not a place to stay, but a functional stop within the travel experience.

As part of a broader slow-mobility system promoted at the regional level, the building helps make the territory accessible and traversable, integrating rural architecture with new forms of sustainable tourism.

Space for learning and sharing

The barn has been restored while preserving its original stone and timber structure, transforming it into a space dedicated to educational and training activities.

Initiatives linked to agriculture, sustainability, and energy take place here, in direct connection with the territory and the nearby school community. This physical proximity allows for continuous use, making the place an active part of local educational pathways.

It is a flexible space, designed to host meetings, workshops, and moments of exchange among community members, students, and visitors.
